My Initial thoughts and Ideas
- Someone flicking through a book (coffee guide), they look at a picture, the camera then zooms out to the actual location, i.e. Stokes.
- Someone stirring their up of coffee, zooms out to a still image of a mug of coffee.
- Camera (GoPro), inside the mug/jug of coffee.
- Main location for shooting will be stokes, but could also film at the Usher Gallery to get footage of the different ceramic cups.
Technical aspects like lighting – is it quite dark, so will a sunny day be better to film on or will flash be appropriate, and will need to check out the space around the machines so that I can think about where to set up my equipment in advance.
Filming
Different areas of the shop – weighing and grinding beans, making coffee at the front; some close ups to show steam coming from the machines or cups of coffee – might be able to zoom in without getting to close; various types of coffee (Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso etc.) being drunk in the café.
All the different cups used; Images of the menu and take-away options; some external shots.
Recording
Recording sounds like the general noise of people in the café; see if anyone would be prepared to be filmed (Or just recorded if they prefer) explaining about the different types of coffees and the flavours and characteristics of beans; Maybe customers asking for different types of coffee or the waitresses asking for orders as they take them.
